What is sake coffee?
Sake coffee is a new kind of drink that brings together traditional Japanese brewing and aromatic coffee. Green coffee beans are soaked in the spirit so its aroma seeps into the beans, then roasted. The result is a grown-up cup with the depth of a dark roast and a subtle hint of the spirit.
About the brewery
Fuji Takasago Shuzo sits at the foot of Mount Fuji in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka, and brews with Mount Fuji's underground spring water. Built on long-standing sake traditions, it has also moved into craft whisky, blending tradition with innovation.
About the spirit
An authentic single malt distilled from select malt and Mount Fuji spring water, then aged for a long time. It has a lavish fruity aroma, a full body and gentle smokiness, with a refined, elegant finish.
Flavour
The soft, full aroma of the single malt blends with the bittersweet notes of the coffee, the malt sweetness and coffee depth weaving together on the palate. Hot or iced, both characters come through in a luxurious cup for grown-ups.
