16 beautiful manhole covers from various parts of Japan are transformed into premium enamel pins. If you collect them all, you can display them all on an Ukiyo-e inspired wall scroll. The wall scroll’s dimension is 34x 82cm. (13.4 x 32.2inches) It is made of premium quality fabric paper hybrid material.

All the pins will be 2 inches (5.08cm) in diameter, just big enough to recreate all the intricate details on the manhole covers. They are all soft enamel pins, the bases finished with antique silver plating or black nickel plating. 

The 16 Manhole Cover Pins

All pins are wonderful to look at and have very unique designs to reflect the history and culture of the locations. 

1 - Otaru, Shirbeshi Subprefecture

Otaru (小樽市), is a city and port in Shiribeshi Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. It is a tourist spot famous for its historic building and a beautiful canal.

2 - Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture

Tsuruoka (鶴岡市), is a city in Yamagata Prefecture. This manhole design depicts the beautiful building in Tsuruoka Park which is also famous for its Sakura trees.

3 - Ojiya, Niigata Prefecture

Ojiya  (小千谷市), Niigata Prefecture. Ojiya was the birthplace of Nishikigoi (special Koi fish). You can visit Nishikikoi no Sato, a museum for Nishikiigoi there.

4 - Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture

Matsumoto (松本市), Nagano Prefecture. The cover depicts the color design of Temari, balls made from embroidery may be used in handball games

5 - Shirakawa, Gifu Prefecture

Miyoshi (三次市) is a city located in Hiroshima Prefecture. It depicts two cranes. The crane is the symbol of fidelity, welfare, beauty, sake, profusion, longevity in Japan.

8 - Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture

Hiroshima (広島市)is the capital of Hiroshima Prefecture. This design depicts senbazuru. A thousand of origami cranes strung together. it is said that if someone folds a thousand cranes, they are granted one wish.

9 - Tokyo Metropolis

Tokyo Metropolis. This design is one of the most commonly found in Tokyo the capital of Japan. The design depicts a sakura flower surrounded by ginkgo leaves.

10 - Atami, Shizuoka Prefecture

Atami (熱海市) is a city located in Shizuoka Prefecture. This design depicts a scene from the story of “Konjiki-yasha”, one of the best stories of Ozaki Koyo where the lovers say goodbye infront of a famous pine tree in Atami.
